The info was revealed by Huawei’s head of mobile business, Yu Chengdong (Richard Yu) in an interview with CNET. In the top executive’s words “the world is not still, prepared for Huawei’s 5G flagship phone”. That sounds ironical considering the foldable Mate X is a 5G product.

Mr. Yu did say they are taking into consideration making the next Mate series 5G equipped. The next Mate series should be the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro and they are expected to release in Autumn 2019.

Huawei’s VP of Global Gadget Marketing, Clement Wong, also revealed that they could possibly have made the P30 and P30 Pro 5G devices but the timing isn’t instantly. He added that he believes 5G won’t be a huge deal until 2020.

Even without 5G, the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are Very incredibile phones. Their main selling point is their digital cameras what swanks impressive zoom capabilities and low-light experience. Both smartphones are already out there for purchase in Europe with a starting price of €799.
