Whenever launching almost two months ago, the Redmi Go is now available in India. This is the first Android Go cameraphone from Xiaomi/Redmi and just including additional Android Go phones, its specs are low-level.
The Redmi Go has a 5-inch 720p panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is fueled by the Snapdragon 425 quad-core cpu and is paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. With a dedicated MicroSD card tray that allows you add up to 128GB of storage, you shouldn’t have to worry about operating out of space.
There is a 5MP camera for selfies with AI Beautify and an 8MP digital camera with LED flash on the back. The camera app is said to have 13 different filters, 11 different scenes, and an HDR mode. The cameraphone could also record videos in 1080p.
The Redmi Go operates on Android Oreo (Go Edition) out of the package even though Android Pie (Go Edition) is presently available. The phone comes with applications like Mail Go, YouTube Go, and Maps Go. There is also Google Assistant (Go Edition) with support for more than 5 languages such as Hindi. There is a 3,000mAh battery under the hood that charges via a MicroUSB port. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack at the backside but no IR digital camera. The Redmi Go has dual SIM support however does not support dual Lte. There is Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for connectivity.
The smartphone ships in blue and black and will sell for INR 4,499 (~$65). It will be out there for purchase by 12 PM on March 22.
